Amazing iPhone Applications for Kids
You may scoff at the idea that children as young as one or two could derive any benefit from playing with your iPhone. But take a look at some of the child-oriented apps on the market today. There are activities that build your child's language skills and others that hone your child's hand-eye coordination and creativity.
For instance, did you know there are apps to turn your iPhone into a tiny e-reader? While an iPhone may not be the best vehicle for reading War and Peace, the phone's small screen may be the perfect size for a book aimed at your child. For this reason, many iPhone applications for kids center around the act of enjoying (if not exactly reading) a picture book. The iPhone seems tailor-made for your toddler's little hands!
If your children have played with your iPhone at all, you've probably already noticed their obsession with it; it's almost impossible to extract the unit from a child's sweaty little grip. So there's no reason not to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity for learning! When you download children's apps to your phone, make sure that they're both entertaining and educational. Choose activities in which the child can participate rather than just things for him to watch.
Are you wondering about the bottom line - the cost? Not to worry - most iPhone apps only cost a few dollars at most, and many are still free. This applies to iPhone applications for kids as well as those for adults. Compared with the cost of most commercial video and computer games, this is a real steal, and a great reason to stock up on all your favorites!
So isn't it time to download some iPhone applications for kids onto your mobile phone? Do remember to put it in airplane mode, thus disabling all the functions that would enable him to make or receive calls - but then settle back to enjoy your child's entry into a whole new world!
Construct-O-Set is one of the best iPhone apps for kids on the market. Designed for toddlers just learning shapes and colors, it also builds hand-eye coordination and creativity. Visit them today for more quality iPhone apps.

"Che is a precocious young boy raised in isolated privilege by his New York grandmother. Yearning for his famous outlaw parents—radical 1960s activists who are now among the FBI’s most wanted—he’s denied access to television and the news. But he takes hope from his teenage neighbor, who predicts, “They will come for you, man. They’ll break you out of here.”
One afternoon, the prediction appears to come true. Soon Che, too, is an outlaw, fleeing into the subway and pitched into a journey that leads to a hippie commune in the jungles of tropical Australia. Here, Che slowly, bravely confronts his life, learning that nothing is what it seems."

"Mark Twain's first draft of the tragic novel Pudd'nhead Wilson, this little book is a humorous tale about a pair of Italian conjoined twins/concert pianists and their effect of their arrival on the inhabitants of a small midwestern town.
There is a love affair, a duel, and a climactic courtroom scene, just as in Puddnhead Wilson, but in this book it's all for laughs..."

First Generation: The Story of Annie audio download
First Generation: The Story of Annie audio download
"First Generation is the story of great-great grandmother Annie, an iguana, who was brought to the United States from Mexico. It follows her capture, journey, and acclimation to her new home.
Young listeners will experience Annie’s feeling of loss and loneliness, her apprehensions and fears, and most importantly how she deals with these feelings, and overcomes perceived setbacks which are not actual setbacks at all.
I wanted to convey these important concepts in addition to many others, including being a first generation citizen, learning to adapt in a new environment, life away from family and familiar faces, remembering lessons and teachings, dealing with bullies and prejudice, and last but certainly not least...hope!"

Curse Of The Blue Tattoo by L.A. Meyer
Curse Of The Blue Tattoo by L.A. Meyer - Audio Book Download:
"Bloody Jack is back and this time, she’s facing a situation far worse than a ship full of murderous pirates.
Curse of the Blue Tattoo, L.A. Meyer’s sequel to the enormously popular Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship’s Boy is just as bawdy and entertaining as the original.
Left in Boston by the H.M.S. Dolphin crew when they discover her true sex, Jacky Faber finds herself navigating entirely new waters. It turns out that bloodthirsty buccaneers have nothing on the young ladies at the Lawson Peabody School! As Jacky observes, "…they’re like any bunch of thirty or so cats thrown in a sack and shaken up good. They’re mean in ways that boys never even thought of being."
It isn’t long before Jacky shows her true colors by being arrested for "exposing a Female Part" (her knee) while jigging in the streets and is "busted down" to serving girl instead of student."

Doctor Who - The Smugglers audiobook
'Nobody who crosses Pike lives to tell the tale!'
When the TARDIS lands on a remote and wild stretch of the Cornish coast, its occupants little realise that they have arrived in the 17th century. The Doctor, Ben and Polly soon discover to their cost, however, that these are far from hospitable times. The local Squire is at the head of a plot to offload contraband, whilst a long-rumoured hoard of stolen treasure has drawn attention to the village church. Inadvertently stumbling upon this web of deception and double-crossing, the time travellers are rapidly propelled into danger.
The Doctor's encounter with the ill-fated Joseph Longfoot leaves him with a cryptic clue to the location of Avery's Treasure. But a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, as the fearsome pirate Samuel Pike (he has a metal hook in place of a hand) is only too willing to prove. To his dismay, the Doctor realises that Pike and his bloodthirsty henchmen will stop at nothing - not even the threat of Avery's Curse - to find and seize the ill-gotten hoard.
Ben and Polly, meanwhile, must choose their allies with care. In these duplicitous days no-one is ever sure who to trust, and the stakes are suddenly raised as smugglers and pirates go head to head with the local militia. Can the time travellers help to save an entire village from burning - and still escape to the TARDIS with their lives?

Doctor Who - The Savages audiobook
'We have reached the distant horizon of an age of peace and prosperity!'
When the TARDIS materialises on an alien planet, the Doctor insists that he and his companions have arrived in the far future. Steven and Dodo think otherwise, however, after they encounter a band of cave-dwelling primitives who are terrified of strangers. The travellers soon discover that the planet's population is divided into two castes, and that the professed idyll of the Elders - who inhabit a technologically advanced city -seems oddly dependent upon the unsophisticated Savages.
Whilst the Elders' leader, Jano, welcomes the Doctor into their society, Dodo stumbles upon a dark secret at the heart of the community. The truth behind the Elders' great knowledge is eventually revealed, and the Doctor sees it as his duty to end a terrible case of exploitation. Yet Jano has plans of his own for the Doctor..
With the Doctor's faithful companion Steven discovering that events on this planet will irrevocably shape his destiny, The Savages marks the final appearance in the programme of Peter Purves, who also provides the linking narration for this release.
